Welcome
Welcome to the web home of Libby Seale, heroine of the mystery series written by siblings Miriam and Joseph Zellnik. We've always enjoyed historical mysteries, and when Miriam moved to Portland, we realized we'd never come across any that were set in her new hometown. When we started discussing possible main characters, we agreed that our grandma, Lillian Rilander, had the perfect combination of brains and wit to be the model for our intrepid seamstress-turned-detective Libby Seale. A bit younger than Libby, she was born in 1902 and graduated from NYU Law School in 1922. While there are many differences between her and our vaudeville seamstress living in the 1890's, Libby has a personality and style that owes a great deal to her nonetheless.

About the authors
Miriam and Joseph Zellnik are a bicoastal brother-sister writing team. When not writing mysteries, Miriam (based in Portland, OR) has also written such hard-hitting reportage as "The Magic 8-Ball Book" and "Vampire in a Box" for Running Press. By day, she works as a technical writer. In addition to the Libby Seale books, Joseph (based in New York) is also author of "The Sound of Murder," first in the new Musicals Are Murder series. He's also co-author of the upcoming "Periodic Table of Broadway Musicals", from Hachette. As a composer, Joseph has written the scores for numerous musicals, including the off-Broadway hit "Yank," which has been produced across the country and around the world.
